MORF

project: Label4Future, a project commissioned by European Commission

The Morf chair is a visual statement based on research on recycling plastic. Plastic is a strong material because of its fibers. When you recycle plastic, these fibers become shorter. Therefore, recycled plastic is weaker. To compensate for this, glass fibers are often added. However, adding another material to the plastic makes the recycling process more complex and expensive.

If want to buy an honest circular recycled chair in the future, it will look thicker and thicker. The design on the left is what a recycled chair looks like after 12 recycling cycles.

SEXY BACK

The oval back rest is upholstered with a single string, avoiding the use of staples and glue. The single-string upholstery technique makes it easy for the end user to replace the cover, making reuse more accessible.
